Bishop Lito Tangunan |
GUIGUINTU, Bulacan - The Church has successfully held its Annual Conference at Ira Pavilion last May 20-21, 2011. The group has approved that The Reverend Bishop Lito Tangunan, resident bishop of MEA to preside the conference. A peaceful communion service was help before the conference begun. Bishop Tangunan gave glory and thanks giving to God for finally freeing the church from the influence of the global and central UMC who dedicated that the conference he will start is freedom oriented. Besides the delegates of Bulacan and Pampanga, some supporters from Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Bataan and Metro Manila came to support.

DS Emil Macarasig |
Earlier the group left the Conference held at Malolos Club Royale in Malolos, Bulacan because they believe that Bishop Tangunan is true and legal overseer of the district. They followed UMC's West MidPAC who rejected the interim Bishop Aricea as presider last May 3, 2011 causing some delays in the UMC's conference schedules.
All churches were sent copies of the resolution including the college and council of bishops. This request fell on deaf ears, thus on May 12-14 Bishop Arichea defied the conference resolution by holding a bogus conference at Blas UMC. Issues on suspensions however had surfaced noting eight (8) successive incidents which the group believed that the latter were politically motivated. Bishop Tangunan stood firmly for the reunification of the church as free from any political agenda for those who wanted positions.

Pastor Ruben Marquez |
Delegates from San Jose has witnessed the history-in-the-making of the church and were greatly inspired of the development. They were welcomed open-arms by the present District Superintendent of Bulacan, Rev. Emil Macarasig. Among them, Pastor Ruben Marquez together with two others were appointed pastors and duly approved by the conference. DS Macarasig also introduced Joel France, Aldersgate School Principal, as incoming pastor. Bishop Tangunan and the conference had noted the introduction. The Bishop and the DS had distinguishably appreciated the delegates from San Jose for the support they showed to the conference. Teacher Estre was also reappointed to the church of San Jose which name will be approved by DS as The Good Shepherd side by side with Pastor Ruben and Bro. Joel as duly recognized church workers.
PRAISES AND THANKSGIVING TO JESUS CHRIST!
